Green Fins

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that resin and fibreglass are not the most environmentally friendly materials on earth. They are however an integral part of the formula for making some of the best, most precise and robust fins available. With this in mind, experienced fin maker, Greg Trotter is committed to ensuring that every fin that is made is worthy of the footprint that it has created.

Every single SOAR fin is cut with state of the art CNC technology out of perfect laminate and finished by hand as opposed to the commercial big brands who reuse moulds to create their products which are subject to size or quality variation and imperfection. Instead of resigning to wasteful consumerist processes, SOAR fins take the time to make fins that last.

Greg Trotter does in fact dabble in rocket science with his hand designed and shaped fin precision and his extractor is no exception. This beast ensures that every single particle from production is contained and responsibly disposed of. SOAR fins is also mindful of their energy consumption and has blanketed their entire production shed with solar panels generating up to 9.9 kilowatts of power which significantly offsets SOAR’s in-factory power usage.

Founders of SOAR fins, Greg and Izumi Trotter are serious about walking a little lighter in every way they can. Their humble abode, situated in the bush behind Bawley Point, generates a further 6.6 kilowatts of solar power and is also home to a farm yard of chickens, geese, ducks and dogs. And then there’s the garden, teeming with a citris orchard and completely self-sustainable veggie garden based on permaculture ethics. This dedication to becoming responsible producers instead of mindless consumers who act symbiotically with nature can be cultivated by anyone right in their own backyard and is reflected in all aspects of the SOAR fins ethos.
